As expected Google fine tunes it’s AdWords conversion tracking set up and makes it easier than ever before. Starting yesterday, you would now be able to verify the correct installation of conversion code within 30 to 60 minutes.
It’s a great relief, indeed!
No need to click your own ad to verify conversions
Yes, you do not need to click your own ad to check if the set up is correct and the system is able to record conversions. All you need to do is to install the code snippet on the page of your website where you want to track conversion on, and visit this page once after the installation.
Once you are done, AdWords will update you within 30 to 60 minutes if everything is fine.
Verify conversion tracking even before your campaigns run
It’s a good piece of news for someone like me who start with conversion set up and then gets ahead to work with campaigns, ad groups, and anything else. With this new update, you can check to verify if the installation was proper even when your campaigns are not readily running.
Got issues? Check with timestamps
Identifying issues have also been made easier with the introduction of timestamps. They are two, namely – “conversion tag last seen” and “last conversion recorded. You can refer to either or both of them according to the requirements. These options would be visible on mouse-over on the bubbles under ‘Tracking Status’ columns.
